Got it wrong and didn't even try
If you are going to make any political endorsements, at least make an effort to make an informed opinion. Interview them (you didn't)! Check on their claims ( you didn't)! You know, investigate for the truth like a respectable newspaper. Then, make your choice.
In the race for District Clerk, you chose Sylvia Cueva over the incumbent, Patsy Perez, without even interviewing Patsy. In doing so, you quoted Cueva's claim that there was a "deep dissatisfaction of attorneys over the current management". If that was true, how come Patsy has been able to raise over $24,000 for her re-election bid with most of that coming from attorneys while Cueva has raised just $200 from one attorney. This isn't an opinion, it's a fact, just look at the filing reports that all candidates are required to file.
If Cueva is wrong on that point, then how can you take her other claims as fact? And, if her other claims are wrong then what is your endorsement based on?
Editors Response:1) My information did not come from Cueva but from attorneys who regurally deal with the District Clerk's office. 2) Raising money isn't hard when you are an incumbent in our Nueces County court system which has a long history of retribution against attorney's for not supporting candidates. Money raised is no sign of popularity, just a calculated bet.
