Priscilla Leal was re-elected this year, but it's hard to understand why she was re-elected when she had a group of intelligent and very well-informed opponents. Ms. Leal seems never to have read the agenda before council meetings and seems to be monumentally mis-informed on most of the issues.

Remember that BOLD FUTURES conference Mayor Cheerleader and all the usual suspects promoted so well this past summer? You know, the one where the brought in several hundred of the City's Best Citizens to brainstorm what we, as a community, wanted Corpus Chrisit to look like in 2020? What does Texas Stand for?

in

That question is likely to get answered this fall in the Governor’s election. If not out shooting coyotes (supposedly) Rick Perry sits in his $10,000 a month rental mansion with 1.5 chefs, reading Wine & Food Magazine on the state tab, taking credit for the “Texas Economic Miracle.” It's an economy he and his corporate buddies built on the backs of working people who rank 32nd in the country at a per capita income level of $19,613 and the largest army of minimum wageworkers in the U.S.

Officials Guilty of Killing Jobs and People

It was truly disheartening to know that while Faisal Gill of Swiftships was getting on a plane to Pascagoula and Brownsville to see if they wanted 1,000 high paying, clean jobs, our City Council was perfectly happy to ignore it and give $120 million dollar pipeline to a company who would double the poison in our air, damage our bay system with hot water and build four 500 foot smokestacks to dominate the skyline for 50 permanent jobs.

Mayor Adame’s disregard for the ethics law and policy unacceptable.

Joe Adame is a guy who wants to get things done, and he doesn’t seem to want the rules of public office to get in the way. He continually makes public comments through his openly supportive cheerleader, the Caller Times, regarding projects involving the City where he has a direct financial interest, the most recent being the "waterpark" project. He did it with the Coliseum and his nearby Whataburger. There he voted on issues that according to area real estate developers quoted in the Caller Times will directly raise the value of his property and increase business resulting in a higher rent for his property and an obvious conflict of interest.
